Catering for Health

Research suggests a diet which includes few fruit and vegetables and too many high salt, sugar and fatty foods can increase the risk of conditions such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and obesity. The good news is many of these conditions can be reduced by a healthier lifestyle that includes regular exercise and a balanced diet.

The Catering for Health award has been developed to make it easier for customers in Slough to make healthier choices. It is based on a scoring system which looks at cooking methods, recipe adaptations, service style and of course the types of foods on offer.

If you are a caterer with a Food Hygiene Rating of 3 or above and are interested in receiving the Catering for Health award, an information pack is available on request. More details on the scheme can be found below or you can email foodandsafety@slough.gov.uk or call 01753 875255.
