Following the Metropolitan Police Service’s statement that a Hotpoint FF175BP fridge freezer has been identified as the initial source of the Grenfell Tower fire, the Government has ordered an immediate examination of the unit by technical experts to establish the cause of the incident.
This product, which was manufactured between 2006 and 2009, has not been subject to product recalls and this testing will establish whether any further action is required.
If you believe you may own a Hotpoint fridge freezer model number FF175BP (white) or FF175BG (grey) you should call Whirlpool Corporation’s freephone hotline on 0800 316 3826 or visit their website to register for further updates.
At this stage there is no specific reason for consumers to switch off their fridge freezer pending further investigation.
Important product recalls are below
The following notice has been issued by the UK distributor:
At Character Options Ltd, the safety of consumers is always top priority.
After being informed by the manufacturer Moose Toys of Australia, and purely as a precautionary measure, Character Options Ltd has decided to voluntarily recall the Little Live Pets Lil Frog (SKU: 28217) and Lil Frog Lily Pad (SKU: 28218) products. This is due to a design defect which could cause a potential safety issue if the batteries are removed.
This voluntary recall is only limited to these two Frog products and does not impact any other items in the Little Live Pets range.
Consumers who have either of these products are asked to stop using them and arrange a return to Character Options. Although there is minimal risk of injury, they are asked not to open the Frog's battery compartment or remove the batteries.
Moose, the makers of the product, and Character Options the distributors have made the determination, out of an abundance of caution, to issue the voluntary recall.
Please call the recall helpline: 0161 633 9808 (UK); +44 161 633 9808 (ROI). Lines open between 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday or visit www.recall.moosetoys.com (opens in a new window) for information regarding the return or disposal of the product.
