Following the Metropolitan Police Service’s statement that a Hotpoint FF175BP fridge freezer has been identified as the initial source of the Grenfell Tower fire, the Government has ordered an immediate examination of the unit by technical experts to establish the cause of the incident.
This product, which was manufactured between 2006 and 2009, has not been subject to product recalls and this testing will establish whether any further action is required.
If you believe you may own a Hotpoint fridge freezer model number FF175BP (white) or FF175BG (grey) you should call Whirlpool Corporation’s freephone hotline on 0800 316 3826 or visit their website to register for further updates.
At this stage there is no specific reason for consumers to switch off their fridge freezer pending further investigation.

Replacement iCandy Buckle and Crotch Strap for the Peach 2016 and Designer Midnight Editions
As part of our on-going monitoring programme, we recently identified a very small number of iCandy buckles that have broken in use. This can result in the crotch strap coming away from the centre of the buckle. This relates specifically to the Peach 2016 model (batch E10799 to batch E10910) and the Peach Designer Collection Midnight Edition. We would like to stress that the waist and shoulder harness is not affected. It should also be noted that the likelihood of the buckle failing is extremely low.
When taking into consideration all of the information at our disposal, including reviewing all returns data, testing the products and also performing routine risk assessments, we have taken the decision to offer a replacement buckle and crotch strap, at no cost, to all customers that have products within the affected batch range. The replacement buckle is new and improved with added strength integrated into the part.
** Please be advised that we made an immediate change to the buckles, (on all potentially affected pushchairs), to the double-looped version shown in the middle picture below but also made an immediate production change, to the new improved design, (shown below with a tick), so you may already have this.
We would like to provide all of our customers with our most up-to-date buckle, so please check the back of your buckle and contact us for an immediate replacement, should you have one of the older designs, (marked with a X), see the differences below.
Please locate the serial and batch numbers at the top of your box or on your basket frame as shown in the image below, prior to filling in your request form, as you will need this information. You will also find the batch and serial numbers on the base board, inside the seat unit, (you will find a velcro strip located at the rear and bottom of the seat). If you have had a replacement seat unit since purchasing your iCandy Peach, please check the base board inside your seat unit for the batch and serial number.
We would advise all customers to use the 5-point harness at all times when a child is in the seat unit and ensure that all harness straps are adjusted correctly to suit the age and size of the child.
