2018.01.23 Recall: Kidde - Fire Extinguishers

The following notice has been issued by the manufacturer:

PRODUCT RECALL NOTICE

Approximately 169,000 push-button Pindicator fire extinguishers were sold in the UK between 1995 and 2006. Approximately 700 plastic handle fire extinguishers were sold in the UK between 2011/2012.

Affected fire extinguishers can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge and can fail to activate during a fire emergency. In addition, in some models, the nozzle may detach with enough force to pose an impact hazard.

Kidde is not aware of any incidents in the United Kingdom and other EU/EEA Member States involving the affected products. However, in the United States and Canada, Kidde has received approximately 391 reports of limited or failed activation or nozzle detachment.
