Playday

Playday is an event hosted in many cities/towns every year. Playday always takes place on the 1st Wednesday in August at Salt Hill Park, from 12:00pm - 4:00pm. The event is designed to promote play to children and their families, in addition to using parks and open spaces for physical activity. A number of organisations are invited to the event and each provider hosts a small activity encouraging play and physical activity. Thames Valley Police and Slough Fire Station will also be there on the day supporting the event and providing information to the community.

There will also be a Get Active sports zone putting on a variety of different sports for the community have a go at. Local sports clubs and organisations will also be available to give you more information about taking part in these sports outside of the event.

Other activities that will be there on the day include:

  • Small farm
  • BMX
  • Hook a duck
  • Cycle powered music
  • Games
  • Necklace making
  • Arts and crafts
  • And much more

The event is free to attend and majority of the activities are also free to try. Some small charges apply for activities such as; bouncy castle, rock climbing and face painting.
