Town Centre celebration event

Visit Slough town centre for events and activities for all the family. Events take place regularly at The Curve, in the town square, the Queensmere Shopping Centre, Home Slough and in nearby parks. There’s lots on offer throughout the year, with many events free to just drop-in and join in the fun.

As well as family fun, for businesses there are opportunities to hire space in and around the town centre as well as events for start-ups, and lots of options for young creatives to get involved in activities.

What else is on offer?

For all the community

  • Active Slough - Our Active Slough team hosts a range of events and activities across Slough and in parks around the town centre, all with the aim of getting our residents moving more while having fun.
  • Christmas events - There are lots of events happening in Slough this Christmas including the Christmas lights switch on, festive fun weekend and the installation of our Christmas tree.
  • The Curve - Slough libraries and culture. The Curve is Slough’s iconic library and cultural centre, right in the heart of the town. The Curve houses a library, gallery, Slough Museum, performance venue, community learning spaces, computer suites and exhibition space. There are activities happening every day, along with an action packed events and performance calendar.
  • HOME Slough - HOME Slough is for anyone who would like to try something new and creative. There are a host of events happening right here in Slough, in places you might not expect.
  • SBC events - Find out more about all of the council’s annual events, including those in our parks around the town centre.
  • Slough CVS - Slough CVS exists to improve the quality of life of people in Slough and make a positive difference in the community. They host a range of events in and around the town centre.
  • Slough Happiness Collective - Slough Happiness Collective is a small charity of volunteers committed to spreading happiness in Slough and beyond, bringing people together through playful festivals, pop-ups and workshops showing how anyone can be happier.
  • Slough Markets - International Street Markets will be visiting Slough on the second and fourth week of each month, bringing a variety of stallholders and choice to town centre visitors.

For businesses

  • The BID - Businesses in Slough delivered a positive “yes” vote for the development of a Business Improvement District (BID) in Slough. The BID will deliver more than £2million of investment over its five-year term, which begins on 1 April 2020, and will see the delivery of projects aimed at improving the environment to do business in Slough Town Centre.
  • Future Works - The Future Works is a contemporary workspace, where work, connectivity and community are being redefined.
  • The Porter Building - Directly next to Slough Train Station, the Porter Building offers space to hire as well as a place for people to meet.
  • StartupSlough events - StartupSlough is Slough’s newest business forum to support start-up businesses at the new SPACES flexible offices at The Porter Building. Providing access to information on the local economy, its business base and peer to peer support guidance as well as access to specialist guidance and advice. Sessions are being held on various dates.

For creatives

  • Creative Junction - Creative Junction CIC is a social enterprise: a non-profit organisation using arts, culture and heritage to engage, inspire and empower. Creative Junction specialises in designing and delivering meaningful and memorable experiences; engaging people and communities through combined art, festivals, projects and events.
  • HOME Slough - HOME Slough is for anyone who would like to try something new and creative. There are a host of events happening right here in Slough, in places you might not expect.
  • Resource Productions - Resource Productions offers training opportunities to young people looking to get involved in the film industry, as well as connecting freelancers and artists who work in this area.

For young people

  • Aik Saath - The words "Aik Saath" mean "Together As One" in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. Aik Saath believes in working together for positive social change. Their mission is to work with people from all communities, faiths and backgrounds to promote and encourage conflict resolution and community cohesion through training, campaigns and projects.
  • YES Slough - Youth Engagement Slough (YES) is a consortium of Slough based providers of services to young people led by Aik Saath (Together As One), Resource Productions and SWIPE. The lead groups are led by young people, in fact, young people came up with the name YES.

Running your own event?

If you are thinking of running an event in the town centre, please contact to speak to the events officer. You will need to have to hand the details of your event, including dates and times as well as any insurances including public liability and risk assessments you hold.

You will be asked to submit an events booking form which will then be assessed by the events officer and if necessary the Safety Advisory Group. You will appreciate there are lots of logistics involved with running events so please give us plenty of notice to avoid being disappointed.
