Newspapers
A wide variety of local and national newspapers are available for you to read in Slough’s libraries.

National newspapers
Slough Library has the largest collection with most of the main daily newspapers and five Sunday newspapers – the Sunday Times, Sunday Telegraph, Independent on Sunday, Observer, Asian Age. Back files range from two weeks to two years.
Newspapers in different languages
We have some newspapers in languages such as Polish and the major Asian languages . There are small back files for all of these.
Local newspapers
Slough Library has the Slough Express and Slough Observer and local papers covering Maidenhead, Reading, Buckinghamshire and Uxbridge. Slough newspapers are held from 1812 for historical research and smaller back files are kept for other newspapers in the local area. Children's newspaper
The Children’s Library at Slough also has a newspaper for children and young people called First News. There is a small back file of about a month.
Online access to newspapers
We also have access to two online newspaper databases. News UK contains 67 national and local newspapers. Times Digital Archive allows you to search every copy of the Times 1785-1985. Find out more about Times Digital Archive at 24 Hour Library.
