Help with reading and writing
Enjoy reading books
We have books for all abilities to help with improving your reading. There are stories with a few simple sentences (entry level 1) up to books with longer words and more complex sentences (level 3).
Quick Reads (launched as part of the BBC RaW project) are also available. These are short, simply written stories by well known authors such as Minette Walters, John Francome and Joanna Trollope.
Audio books
You can listen to a story on CD or cassette whilst following the story in print. This can help with pronunciation and word recognition. These packs can be borrowed free of charge.
Information books
We have books for people who want to develop their English, eg, text books, dictionaries and books on grammar, vocabulary, spelling and pronunciation.
Want to join a class?
