Slough Library's largest collections of adults books are in the following languages:
Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, French, German, Gujarati, Hindi, Italian, Polish, Panjabi, Russian, Spanish, Urdu.
We also have adult books in:
Albanian, Dutch, Estonian, Farsi, Hungarian, Konkani, Kurdish Sorani, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malayalam, Pashto, Portuguese, Somali, Swedish, Tamil and Vietnamese.
Dual language books for adults are available in, for example, Urdu, Spanish, Farsi and Arabic.
Slough Library also stocks a collection of Asian talking books.
Slough Children's Library has books in Bengali, Gujarati, Japanese, Polish, Punjabi and Urdu. Dual language picture books are also available in in Arabic, Armenian, Bengali, Gujarati, Polish, Punjabi, Somali, Urdu and other languages.
Slough Library keeps magazines and newspapers in Arabic, Chinese, French, Gujarati, Hindi, Polish, Punjabi and Urdu.
Newspapers can also be accessed online through the internet. Free internet access is available in all our libraries.
Our world cinema collection includes a number of titles, including films in Italian, French, Russian and Spanish. We also have a major collection of Asian videos and DVDs for films and information eg Hindi, Panjabi, Urdu and Begali.
Many of our DVDs can also be played in different languages and provide subtitles in dozens of languages.
