Appeal Against Procedure Applied to Job Evaluation Review

Minutes:

Prior to commencement of the hearing, Councillor Dodds, as Chairman of the Sub-Committee, requested that the grounds of appeal be clarified. It was noted that it was not clear from the written submissions which aspects of the Job Evaluation Process were being queried.

Sub-Committee Members noted the submissions made on behalf of the Appellants that whilst it was accepted that the procedure and the administration of the JE Review process was in accordance with the prescribed arrangements; the Appellants concerns related to not being informed about the process and procedure regarding the JE Process from it’s commencement.

Having regard to the evidence presented the Sub-Committee decided that the procedural arrangements for the JE Review Hearing were carried out correctly and the Panel was following the agreed procedure. The Chair explained that the remit of the Panel meant that only matters relating to the procedure and administration of the JE Review process could be considered.

Members of the Sub-Committee decided that as there were no valid grounds of appeal in relation to the Job Evaluation Procedure the matter would not be considered further.

Resolved – That due to invalid grounds of appeal the matter be dismissed accordingly.
