Minutes:
Jo Fageant, Chair of the Slough SACRE reported to the Committee on the Annual General Meeting of the National Association of SACREs (NASACRE) held on 23rd May. Professor Robert Jackson of the University of Warwick, amongst other speakers, spoke about Religious Education (RE) projects across UK and Europe. The Chair encouraged the Committee to view the minutes of the meeting on the NASACRE website.
The Committee was also given information about the upcoming review of the non-statutory national framework for RE. The Religious Education Council (REC) of England and Wales would also soon be introducing an RE Quality Mark (REQM) to recognise good practice in RE. Furthermore, an All Party Parliamentary Group on RE had recently been established and national groups on RE would be working with this newly launched body.
Resolved - That the update on the NASACRE AGM and related issues be noted.
