Minutes:
The Chief Executive explained that in order to comply with legislative requirements that prevented anyone presiding over their own election and as it was anticipated that Councillor Rasib would be nominated, it was necessary for Councillor Rasib to leave the meeting whilst the meeting considered the election of Mayor for the Municipal Year 2015/16.

Nominations were sought for election of Chair to preside over the election of Mayor. Councillor Nora Holledge proposed and Councillor Michael Holledge seconded Councillr Nazir and Councillor Nazir was duly elected to Chair the meeting with regard to this agenda item.

Councillor Nazir called for nominations for the office of Mayor of the Borough of Slough for the ensuing municipal year. Councillor Swindlehurst proposed and Councillor Shah seconded the nomination of Councillor Rasib.
The nomination was put to the vote and a prior request having been made for the record of the voting:-

The Chief Executive declared that Councillor Rasib was elected Mayor of the Borough of Slough for the 2015/16 municipal year.

Councillor Rasib, having made and signed the requisite declaration of acceptance of office, was thereupon installed in the Chair.
