The Senior Licensing Officer, Mrs Rumney, outlined details of the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Statement. Members were informed that the Licensing Statement summarised the requirements and Council’s policy and procedures in carrying out its duties under the licensing regime. It was noted that the Licensing Statement was not intended to be a comprehensive legal document and would be reviewed and updated on a regular basis.

In response to a Member query, the Committee was informed that the Licensing Statement did not included any new requirements or procedures that had not been previously approved and therefore a consultation with the hackney carriage and private hire trade had not been conducted. 

Resolved –  That details of the revised Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Statement be noted.
