I am writing to formally respond to your e-petition received by the council and debated at the Council meeting held at The Curve on 23rd April, 2019.
The petition organiser was invited to the meeting to speak on the petition and Slough Borough Council councillors responded to the points she raised.
It was noted that Slough Borough Council has no responsibility to provide facilities for community sports clubs in the town, nor are they able to fund or subsidise any alternative provision for SGC.
It was proposed that a follow up report be taken to the council’s Scrutiny and Overview Committee in September 2019 to update committee members on possible options for the gymnastics club.
We will continue to liaise with representatives of the club during this period.
