Gerald Pleace, parks and open space officer, said: “We are really proud to be supporting Slough in Bloom, who we have been working with for 26 years, and are looking forward to seeing your gardens, allotments, and hanging baskets entries, and we would encourage you to think about what communal areas you want to nominate.

“This competition really shows how proud people are to live in Slough, and how much they enjoy brightening up their local areas. We are particularly proud of how many beautiful communal gardens and front gardens our Slough Borough Council tenants enter.”

Lea Metcalfe, member of the Slough Allotment Federation, said: "As the photographer for Slough Allotment Federation and last year’s Slough in Bloom, I have the joy of being asked back for Slough in Bloom 2019 which officially started on Wednesday 17 April. The colourful gardens, commercial displays and the productive allotments last year were a real treat to capture through the lens and I am really looking forward to taking pictures of this year's displays.

“Please visit or for more details, pictures and entry forms. It's free to enter and the winners will be announced at this year's Slough Horticultural Show at Lascelles Park on Saturday 17 August."
