What are the Building Regulations?
They are legal requirements which are laid down by Parliament and are supported by separate documents containing practical and technical guidance on compliance, which are known as Approved Documents.
The main purpose of Building Regulations is to ensure the health and safety of the persons in or about buildings,
- conservation of fuel and power,
- access to and use of buildings.
Please be aware that complying with the building regulations and obtaining planning permission are separate matters.

Making a building regulations application
