Early Years Pupil Premium

Raise money for our setting

Early Years Pupil Premium is extra funding the government will provide to early years settings and childminders to support children aged 3 and 4:

  • whose parents are in receipt of certain benefits or
  • who have been in care or
  • who are adopted from care.

How much will they receive?

In Slough, each early years setting and approved childminders will receive over £850 per eligible child per year.

What will the funding be used for?

Your child’s setting or childminder will choose what to spend the money on to deliver the best outcomes for your child. For example, they could choose to spend the money on:

  • additional training for staff or
  • investing in partnership working to support speech and language.

The money will always be used to improve the quality of early years education your child receives.
