Slough is a compact town which may seem crowded and busy but there places of calm and tranquillity to enjoy. Our parks provide an important escape for the people to help them relax, get away from the pressures of life and enjoy nature.
The parks team manages over 50 parks, with a total of 254 hectares of public open space. We have parks that can hold the largest events or small open spaces hidden away from the crowds known only to the local community.
Our varied open spaces provide a range of sports fields, woodland areas and wildlife space. We have gardens with flower borders and a historic park with magnificent trees as well as 3 lovely ponds and village greens.
We have the benefit of the forethought of our predecssors who realised the need for parks and open spaces in Slough, some date back to the Victorian and Edwardian periods. There are 2 historic landmarks, Herschel Park and Salt Hill Park linking the town to the distant past.
This is a small selection of parks in Slough and only a taste of the variety of open space types we have to offer for the sports enthusiast, fun seaker, nature lover or seeker of that often elusive tranquillity.
All this and more can be found within the boundary of Slough! Email parks@slough.gov.uk to find out more.
