Licence - hackney carriage - taxi

If you would like to apply to be either a private hire or hackney driver then please contact Slough Borough Council's taxi licensing department on 01753 875664, 01753 875675 or alternatively email TaxiLicensing@slough.gov.uk . They will provide you with advice and information about your application procedure.

Slough Borough Council offers two types of taxi applications:

• Private hire
• Hackney carriages

Private hire taxi drivers operate through pre-booked taxi service. There are three separate licenses:

• Driver
• Vehicle
• Operator

Hackney carriages are taxis that can be flagged down by those wanting a taxi service, the most common form are black cabs. If you would like to apply for this then you will need to request a driver and vehicle form.
