During the summer of 2004 the government sent every home a copy of a new booklet called Preparing for Emergencies - What you need to know. It contains practical, common sense information about how to prepare for and what to do in the event of an emergency.
Get more information from the Preparing for Emergencies website.
The councils in Berkshire have also joined together to publish advice about steps local residents can take to prepare for emergencies. More detailed advice e found below.
