Community safety

We are committed to taking account of the community safety dimension in all of our work. All policies, strategies, plans and budgets are considered from the standpoint of their potential contribution to the reduction of crime and disorder. All new employees receive training in community safety as part of their induction into the council.

The Drugs and Alcohol Action team (DAAT) is managed within Slough Borough Council, however their work includes that of the:

Primary Care Trust,
Thames Valley Probabtion,
Thames Valley Police and;
other organisations, including those from the voluntary sector.

We are fully committed to the work of the Safer Slough Partnership. The chief executive chairs the Safer Slough Partnership executive meetings and the council's community safety team is responsible for monitoring the partnership's performance.
