Slough contributes to, and is covered by the Thames Valley Community Risk Register.
The risks described in the register are general hazards which may never affect us. However, by identifying all potential hazards and their consequences, plans can be made and any incidents that may occur can be dealt with more effectively.
The purpose of the register is to reassure the communities of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Milton Keynes that potential hazards have been assessed, and that effective preparation arrangements and response plans exist.
The register has been published by the Thames Valley Local Resilience Forum, in accordance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. Details on the regulations and guidance contained in the act can be found on the UK Resilience website.
