The Rights of Way Improvement Plan (ROWIP) for Slough has now been published following a period of public consultation over summer 2007.
The ROWIP is a statutory responsibility of Slough Borough Council imposed by the Countryside and Rights of Way (CROW) Act 2000. It sets out the Council’s intentions for improving local rights of way over the next 10 years with a view to encouraging more use of sustainable modes of transport and enjoyment of local green spaces, in line with the needs of local communities.
The ROWIP covers all footpaths, bridleways, cycle tracks and other non-motorised routes within the borough.
The Slough Local Access Forum has been involved in the preparation of the ROWIP from the outset and guidance from Defra has also been used in the production of the plan.
The final ROWIP is available below, under the more information heading to view or download.
