New telescope lighting, designed by artist Simon Watkinson, now graces MacKenzie Square.
The three columns are flexible structures that vary their throw of light, adding dramatic lighting in the evenings.
The telescope lighting was inspired by Herschel and star gazing.
Simon Watkinson said: “The lighting takes it main inspiration from Slough’s scientific heritage in particular the work of famous astronomer William Herschel who lived in the town.
“I designed the lights to look like telescopes because I liked the fact that when you see a star you are actually looking at something whose light has taken years to reach our planet.
“During the day the lights will be unassuming but at night when they are lit I hope that people will see the shape of a telescope.”
