Slough Borough Council is part of an Executive Committee, represented by the private and public sector and chaired by Fiona Mactaggart MP, who have come together to develop a skills strategy which aims to improve the competitiveness of Slough businesses through having a skilled workforce.
Key objectives are to:
To enable us to meet our objectives, our first step is to carryout research with employers to identify and understand the main challenges local businesses face regarding skills.
The research is taking place throughout September and October 2007. The results of which will be announced at an event in November 2007. Alongside the results, we will inform businesses of what help and funding is available to train staff.
