Supported lodgings is for young people aged 16 or over who can't live with their family but aren't ready to live independently.
Young people may be up to 21 years of age if they are in full time education like sixth form, college or university.
We are looking for carers from different backgrounds, ethnicities and religions to reflect the diversity of our young people.
Carers need to be over 21 years but there is no upper age limit so long as you can support the young person with their needs.
To help support the transition from teenager to young adult, a supported lodgings carer will:
Supported lodgings placements are usually made for maximum of 2 years, sometimes shorter depending on the needs of the young person.
As a carer you'll need to be sensitive to the needs of the young person, who may have experienced trauma and difficulties in their past and may have some level of learning difficulty.
As a carer you'll:
We offer ongoing support to all our carers; regular visits, training, social events and consultation service. You will be paid an allowance to meet the costs of providing a placement. The young person will also contribute a small amount towards the cost of their accommodation.
