How you can search

You can make your enquiry in one of the following ways:

• by post / DX (document exchange)
• via the internet
• by visiting our offices

If you want a postal or document exchange (DX) search:

Please fill in the relevant search forms. If you do not have these forms, you can get them from Her Majesty’s Stationery Office or from any law stationers.

You will need to send us a clear plan of the property and the correct fee. Cheques should be made payable to Slough Borough Council.

We will complete standard postal searches in 5 working days.

If you need a personal search:

Visit our offices at the Town Hall, Bath Road, Slough. There is visitors' car parking available off Ledgers Road.

Searches can be carried out between 10am– 12 noon and 2– 4pm Monday to Friday by prior arrangement only.

You will need to telephone 01753 875038 at least 24 hours prior to the required appointment. Appointments for up to 12 searches are available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Full details of the search address should be provided and where appropriate a plan should be faxed to us on 01753 875057.

• The statutory fee for a search of the Local Land Charges Register - £11
• As above but with a printed out copy of the Local Land Charges Register - £15
• Any additional parcel - £1

Please state at the time of booking whether the £11 search is required.

If someone other than the person who made the appointment is to attend, a fax from the person making the appointment must be sent authorising us to deal with the third party and if appropriate, for us to accept their cheque.

Payment should be made in cash – exact amount please as there are no cashier facilities available on site or by cheque supported by a cheque guarantee card payable to Slough Borough Council.
