Impact Assessments can help to find how a policy, function or procedure affects people in different groups. Most policies that affect people will potentially affect different groups of people in different ways. They may have an adverse or negative impact. This will need to be identified and addressed.
Impact assessments for race, gender and disability are a legal requirement under current Equalities legislation. Slough Borough Council is also looking at how age, religion and sexual orientation impacts on service delivery and has been included into recent assessments.
