Slough Borough Council maintains an animal disease contingency plan to ensure it can respond to a full range of animal disease incidents.
The council’s Trading Standards service takes the lead in any animal-related response. It receives direction from DEFRA (the lead government department) on the appropriate measures to take, especially in a wide-area incident.
The council’s other services including emergency planning, highways, communications etc, and supports the Trading Standards service in their response and will look at the wider implications which relate to an animal-health related incident.
The animal diseases contingency plan outlines the steps taken to respond to a wide range of animal health issues. This can be found below.
If you have any questions regarding this plan please contact the animal health team on 01753 875255.
