Capacity building fund 2008

Slough Borough Council is inviting bids for the Capacity Building Grant Fund. It is aimed at local voluntary and community sector organisations based and/or working in Slough for the benefit of Slough people.

The Capacity Building Grant Fund allocates time-limited grants to help develop and strengthen voluntary and community organisations and to provide emergency funding.

The grant

the fund has a modest budget and once it is spent, the fund will close
there is no maximum grant size, however you are unlikely to receive a grant of more than £10,000, and the average grant is around £5,000.
grants cannot cover a period of more than 12 months
if you received a Capacity Building Grant last year your application will not be considered a priority for funding
the Fund will NOT support core costs such as general running costs, however will support short term salary costs
grants will not be awarded for large equipment or hire of venue costs
you can be awarded only one Capacity Building Grant during the year
the Council does not grant-aid retrospectively
proposals promoting political or religious beliefs will not be funded

We would advise you to contact Slough Council for Voluntary Services on 01753 524176 to talk through your proposal before submission. We will not support any consultancy/training proposals which could be accessed free of charge from Slough Council for Voluntary Services.

We can only accept hard copies of the application as your bid must be signed.
