The council runs a green bin scheme for residents to recycle all of their garden waste.
The scheme was launched in 2006, and to date more than 18,000 residents are using their green bins to recycle items such as grass cuttings, leaves and weeds.
This garden waste is then collected fortnightly and composted.
From 1st September 2008, green waste collection days will be changing. This only affects green bins, with refuse and recycling collection days remaining the same.
The council will be sending a new collection calendar, through the post, to every resident who takes part in the scheme to highlight their new collection day.
New collection days for green bins can also be looked up by street by downloading the collection schedule below. Please do not print out the whole document.
To join the free garden waste collection scheme, please call 01753 875255 or email greenwaste@slough.gov.uk.
The following garden waste can be put into the green bins:
Garden waste that is disposed of in refuse bins can be damaging to the environment.
When taken to the landfill site, it is squashed down under other rubbish and decomposes without air, creating methane - a powerful global warming gas.
