We intend to select three suitably qualified contractors to carry out Certificates of Compliance on Private Hire (PH) & Hackney Carriage (HC) vehicles, which is similar to the Ministry of Transport (MoT) test.
The council has a responsibility to ensure the safety of the public who are conveyed in licensed Private Hire and Hackney Carriage vehicles; this work is carried out by nominated contractors between one and three times per year, depending on age of vehicle, accident damage etc.
In September 2009 we want to award, a three year contract with the option for this to be extended for a further one year period, subject to satisfactory performance of the contract.
