The council is working to ensure that people are able to expose illegal and other inappropriate activities in the council workplaces.
The Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 provides some protection for staff and others who make disclosures about a range of subjects. We publish our whistleblowing policy to ensure that everyone is given the opportunity to raise these issues without worrying about the effects.
Although rare, fraud, corruption and other practices are among the issues that we want to encourage people and staff to talk about. We hope that the policy will be successful in promoting a listening culture within the council. It is in everyone's interest to ensure the council works effectively. So we hope that it will be easy to work within the spirit of our whistleblowing policy.
A copy of the policy is available for download below. It may be updated from time to time so we can improve it. Please let us know if you think there are improvements we can make - enquiries@slough.gov.uk.
