Communal facilities

All properties are self-contained with own kitchens and bathrooms, complexes usually have some extra communal facilities, listed below:

Lounge and Kitchen

A communal lounge, and a kitchen is provided in all of our complexes and most are used for regular social activities. These functions are arranged by the residents themselves, or facilitated by Supported Housing Officers. Most residents prefer to participate, but this is voluntary.

Other older people living locally (including those living in outside schemes) are encouraged to take part in these social functions.

Laundry

Laundering equipment can be found in all the complexes, which can be used by residents from the outside schemes linked to the complexes.

Supported housing officers may give assistance with the operating instructions, laundering remains the residents’ own responsibility (or that of their carer).

Guest rooms

In all the complexes a guestroom is provided for friends or relatives to stay overnight. A small charge is made to help cover expenses. This facility may be used by tenants living nearby, in outside schemes.

Cleaning and repairs

The Senior Supported Housing Officer and Supported Housing Officers are responsible for general supervision of the whole supported housing scheme and equipment. They are responsible for informing us of any general mechanical or structural problems.

Each tenant is responsible for reporting repairs needed to their home, and to making sure that our contractors can get access to carry out any repairs needed.

Supported Housing Officers make sure communal areas are kept clean through Interserve.

Moving into Supported Housing

Before you move in, you will be assessed by Housing Needs Team and suitable accommodation will be offered to you based on the results of the assessment.

Once you have moved into the property, we will provide continual support through a support plan where you are visited on a regular basis based on your assessed needs.
