Am I allowed to teach my child at home?
Although it it possible for parents to teach their children at home, we ask that you give careful consideration to whether this is the best option, and how you would provide an effective education suitable to the child's age and ability.

Is there any financial assistance with teaching my child at home?
No. It is the parents' responsibility to cover all the costs of educating their child at home.
Must we follow the national curriculum when teaching our child at home?
No, there is no need to follow the National Curriculum, however, you should try to provide a broad and balanced education suitable to the child's age, ability and aptitude.
How do I go about doing teaching my child at home?
Once you have carefully considered the implications and taken appropriate advice, you need to inform the school (if your child is attending a school at the moment) and the Local Education Authority in writing about your decision. Once we are made aware of your intentions we would write to you with further information.
