Do I have to pay if my dog is found strayed and returned to me?
Yes you will have to pay if your dog is found strayed and returned to you. You will need to pay a statutory rate of £25, kennelling, and all treatment deemed necessary whilst in local authority care. The police have record of the stay. If you choose not to pay, then after 7 days your dog will be re homed by the RSPCA. If you find a stray dog, hand it into the local police station.
