How accessible is the council's website to all sections of the community including people with disabilities?
We are committed to providing our online services to all sections of the public, including those with a disability.
Our website has been designed to follow the accessibility guidelines issued by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). We currently meet its 'Double A' standard as required by central government.
Wherever possible we use plain language throughout our website. Plain language is language that everyone in our audience can easily understand. The only exceptions to this are documents which convey text of a technical or legislative nature.
More information on how we are meeting accessibility guidelines is available on our accessibility page.
