What do I do if a nursing agency is not licensed?
Contact the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) on 0845 0150120 or by looking at their website www.csci.org.uk
Does an agency have to be licensed to provide nurses?
Yes. Any agency that provides nurses to hospitals, old people's homes or other outlets can only do so if they are licensed. This applies to employment agencies or any organisation or individual operating in this area of work.
With effect of 1 April 2003 the licensing of nursing agencies was moved to the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI).
