Can I work as a bouncer in the pubs in Slough?
You need a Door Supervisors licence if you are responsible for security, protection, screening the suitability of people entering the premises or dealing with conflict in pubs, clubs and other licensed premises open to the public (at present this includes licensed premises under the Licensing Act 1964).
The Private Security Industry Act 2001 creates several new criminal offences if an organising provides a designated security service without a licence or employs an unlicensed person in an activity for which a licence would be required. You can apply for a licence through the Security Industry Association web-site, and there is a charge for obtaining a licence.
