What can I do if I am concerned a trader is weighing items differently to advertised?
Most transactions that refer to quantity, whether they are in kilograms, litres or metres, have to meet the relevant weights and measures legislation - the scales need to be true and used properly. The trading standards department can give advice to traders about the legislation and meeting it. If, as a consumer you are concerned about an establishment selling items incorrectly, then please fill in our e-form: Trading Standards General Enquiry.
