What sort of preventative projects are there running in Slough to prevent young people from offending?
One of the most effective ways to reduce crime is to prevent young people from getting into trouble in the first place. The Youth Justice Board has helped to develop a range of early intervention and diversionary programmes, which contribute to giving young people the best chances of leading a crime-free life.
The programmes aim to engage young people's interests, increase their knowledge and consequently divert them from offending. They can often effectively address the problems which lie behind a young person's troublesome behaviour, such as family problems, substance misuse and poor educational attainment.
