What do I need to bring to a cycle proficiency course?
A roadworthy cycle and a helmet are required to take the course.

Yes, the National Cycling Proficiency course will run, but this is dependent on the day.
If I come to a course and you find something wrong with my bike, will you fix it?
No, cycle checks are carried out to ensure that your bike is roadworthy before you start the course.

I am not yet 10 years of age. Can I apply for a cycle training course now?
You must be 10 within your academic year to undertake the course.
Will I get homework when I attend a National Cycling Proficiency course?
Yes, an off road book is provided for homework.
If I fail the cycling proficiency test do I have to do all of the course again?
No. Once you have completed the course you do not have to take it again, even if you fail the test.
What happens on the National Cycling Proficiency test day?
A road test is carried out to ensure you reach a standard to cycle on the road. Some of the basic elements covered on the test are basic manoeuvres, safety and awareness.
Will you tell me my National Cycling Proficiency Test pass mark?
Yes, your final mark after completing the National Cycling Proficiency Test is given on the day.
