How much respite care am I entitled to?
Carers and the people they are caring for may be entitled to respite care in the form of a temporary place in residential accommodation or provision of an alternative qualified carer to give both the carer and their families a break.
A professional care manager will talk in depth about your individual requirements depending on your situation.
If you have a Social Worker already assigned then please contact them.

What type of homes are available for respite care?
Two type of homes are available, nursing and residential and each person will be assessed as for the appropriate setting for their respite care.

How much notice do I need to give before I book respite care?
Ideally we would like 3 months, but as a minimum we need one months notice. We cannot however, guarantee that we will able to provide respite care, as it is subject to availability.
Are my needs as a carer considered?
Yes, we would ask you to complete a questionnaire outlining your responsibilities as a carer and these would be taken into consideration when we put together the care plan which covers both your needs and the needs of the person requiring care.
How much will respite care cost?
The first 4 weeks of respite care is at a fixed basic rate which you will be informed of.
Any subsequent care will be charged at an assessed rate.
