What is the difference between Planning Permission and Building Control?
Planning Permission deals with how the building looks, how it impacts on the local environment and grants, or denies, permission to build. Building Control Approval deals with how the building is constructed and ensures that the construction complies with the Building Regulations. Separate applications must be submitted for each.
