I'd like to move in Sheltered Housing, will there be a warden on site daily?
Warden managed schemes known as Sheltered Housing, are being phased out across the UK. They are being replaced by Supported Living and Floating Support, to encourage and maintain independent living.
A Supported Housing Officer will visit tenants on a frequency based on your assessed needs.
To discuss this further, please contact a Supported Housing Officer on 01753 875491 / 875492 or see the People 1st (Slough) website.
Is there a charge for living in sheltered housing (supported housing)?
Yes, tenants are charged a standard fee of £10.55 per week. This charge covers the maintenance of the alarm facilities and emergency call out service. This charge will be added to your rent bill. If you are receiving Housing Benefits, this charge will be paid directly from the Benefits. Otherwise, you will need to pay it as part of your rent payments.
