How can I pay my council house rent?
You can pay your rent with cash, cheque, postal order, standing order, direct debit or using a debit or credit card (please note there is a 1½% fee for using a credit card). You can also pay your rent at the post office or the Customer Service Centre at the cash desk.
When should I pay my council rent?
Rent is usually paid either weekly or fortnightly. Please contact the Housing Rent Department if you wish to make alternative arrangements.
Can I pay my Council rent online?
This facility is not currently available, although the Council are looking to introduce this facility some time in the future.
A payment is missing from my account?
If a payment is missing on the account, we will ask you to provide copies of the receipts and write to us at: Rent Accounts, PO BOX 580, Slough, SL1 1DB or contact us directly on 01753 875491.
When does my council rent increase?
Yearly basis in April along with government guidelines. A letter is sent out in Feb. with 4 weeks notice.What happens if I have difficulty paying my council rent?

I've lost my council rent card what do I do?
Please contact the Housing Rent who will order a new Rent card, this will incur a £2 charge. Please contact Housing Rent on 01753 875491.
Does everyone who lives with me have to pay council rent?
Tenants with a tenancy agreement must pay the rent. Any one in addition residing in the property is a matter of discussion with the tenant.
Slough Borough Council do not get involved. Any changes in circumstances must be reported.
Do I still have to pay council rent if I am a pensioner?
Yes you do, this is dependent on a number of circumstances. Please contact Rent Accounts on 01753 - 875491
Do I have to pay council rent if I have outstanding repairs?
Yes, you still need to pay rent if you have outstanding repairs.
