Does the Council rent out garages? If so, how can I get one?
Yes we do, an application form can be downloaded from our garage application page.
You will need to complete the form and return it to the address on the form. When we receive the application form then we can register you on the waiting list according to your requested area.
If the area does not have a huge demand and garages are available then we write to you for you to come to the offices to sign up for a garage.
I want to store my furniture inside the garage, is this possible?
No, only vehicles can be stored inside the garage. You should arrange your own insurance cover.
I am on the waiting list, when am I getting a garage?
This will depend on the area you have requested and the availability.
How much are the garages per month?
Garage rental is £5.72 per week plus VAT or £29.12 per month.
How long do I have the Council garage for and do I need to renew the agreement?
You can rent the garage for as long as you need it. There is no need to renew the contract.
What do I need to bring with me to apply for a Council garage?
You need a current utility bill or mobile phone bill, driving licence / passport.
