What day is my dustbin emptied?
To find out when your dustbin will be emptied, please contact Slough Accord on 0800 634 6301 – They will tell you what your normal collection day is.
How can I help ensure that my bin is collected?
Please make sure your bin is easily accessible at the front of your property before 7am on the day of collection. Please park your car considerately so it does not obstruct the refuse vehicles. Do not overload your bin or put in inappropriate items e.g. car parts which may cause damage. Ensure the lid is down on the bin. Do not use your bin for heavy materials such as soil, rubble, or items such as garden chemicals and paints.
What is the earliest time that my rubbish will be collected?
Household rubbish can be collected from 7am onwards. Please put your wheeled bin out on the front boundary of your property before 7am on the day of collection.
How does a bank holiday affect my bin collection day?
Every year, the council reviews all bank holiday collections with our refuse collection partner Slough Accord. Details of bank holiday arrangements are published on our website.
How many refuse sacks can I put out for collection?
None. Side refuse is not collected.
If I put cardboard boxes and refuse sacks beside the bin, will they be collected?
Side refuse cannot be collected. Facilities are available for disposing of excess rubbish at Chalvey waste transfer station on White Hart Road.
What do I do if all my rubbish doesn’t fit in the bin?
You must not overload your bin. The lid must always be flat down. Side refuse left by the side of your bin on the pavement cannot be collected. Putting waste in bags on the street will be seen as a littering offence and may result in prosecution. Disposal facilities are available at Chalvey Household Waste and Recycling Site in White Hart Road, Chalvey at Crow Piece Lane, Burnham and Langley Park Road, Langley.
Will my rubbish be collected over the weekend?
No, rubbish is not collected at weekends. Refuse is collected Monday to Friday unless there is a holiday period - please see local press or ring Slough Accord for details.
How do I complain about the bin collection service?
To make a complaint about the bin collection service, in the first instance, contact Slough Accord on 0800 634 6301 (or 518555) so they can put things right. If you are still unhappy, call the council's environmental services team on (01753) 875255 or email bins@Slough.gov.uk.
Can I get a refund on my Council Tax if I am not getting the services that I have paid for, such as bin collection?
No, there is no refund available on council tax. If your bin was left on the boundary of your property before 7am and it was not collected, please try to phone before midday to arrange for a collection.
