What happens if the body is to be taken out of England for burial?
There has to be a certificate of "non-liability to register" produced to the burial or cremation authorities. The death is registered as usual.
One full copy of the death certificate will have to be bought to go with the body back to the other country. The Coroner must be informed (which the Registrar or undertaker will do) and he has the right to hold the body for 4 days to make investigation if need be.
