Learning opportunities for women from a black or minority ethnic background
Aurat Enterprise aims to promote education amongst women from black and minority ethnic backgrounds. It is particularly targeted at women at risk, recent arrivals to the UK, women with low self-confidence and at risk of domestic violence.
Aurat is a Punjabi word when translated means woman.
Aurat Enterprises has been recognised for their good work in empowering Muslim women within their community and within the society as a whole, by the organisation, Communities and Local Government. You can download the Empowering Muslim Women: Case Studies by visiting the Communities and Local Government website.
When enrolled as an Aurat Enterprise learner, your progress is constantly monitored and customised courses will be offered to support your future development. Issues like childcare and transportation are addressed so that there are no barriers to learning. Learning is delivered in a friendly environment and is easily accessible in the community.
